The Coup in Niger-Or Where is the Money?

Few days ago the Coup has been staged in the African land locked country of Niger bordering between others Mali and Burkina Faso. Mali just recently got rid of the French and Burkina Faso has named a 34 year old Captain Ibrahim Traoré a new leader, which government also, and in February 2023, expelled the French forces assisting in fighting the local insurgency. It is worthy mentioning that Mr. Ibrahim Traoré in 2014 participated at a United Nations peace keeping force in neighbouring Mali war. He was cited in 2018 as one of the MINUSMA soldiers who “showed courage” during major rebel attacks in one of the Mali regions. From that time he had a vision of making the people of Africa independent and free of corruption and blackmail, never to beg anyone for something which is theirs, and he expressed support for a federation with Mali. Then both countries invited Guinea to join.

All three countries have ousted western nations who were looting for many years now their countries national resources such as for Burkina Faso gold, copper , iron, manganese, phosphates,cassiterite, for Mali despite its arid climate, gold, uranium, diamonds, copper, iron ore, precious stones, zinc, manganese, bauxite, lead, lithium, bitumen schist, marble, gypsum, kaolin, phosphate, lignite, diatomic, and rock salt, and for Guinea iron ore, diamond, gold, uranium, water, and fish. So much of the resources that were making their nations, particulary those in westetn hemisphere rich, while keeping African people suffering! So it is logical that those, and many many more African countries want to use their resources for the BENEFIT OF THEIR OWN PEOPLE AND THEIR PROSPERITY, and are looking for cooperation with nations who are ready to accept the concept of the balance of interests without bribes and corruption of high officials who have now the fashion for buying the property in UK and France, and then sending their families there where their children are attending so expencive private schools from the kindergarten! They will be held accountable by their own people!

To repeat!

What those that are fighting corruption in Africa want is simple! Africa for Africans and accountability for all! That is not acceptable for the western looters who were for so many years used African countries resources for next to nothing by bribing government officials and organising their coups. That will stop now.

As for the Niger coup, that is another example how the people awoke and how the people who are aware of the scale of the corruption have organised and executed the coup against corruption and bribes.

If the coup will be called democratic or not can be easily understood following the reaction of the Niger finance minister who was given some short time to explain where all the money is gone. You can see it at the below video link

Even if they say that this might be not Niger finance minister and that is Nigerian Minister of Justice, it shows how all those accountable and steeped in corruption might react.

By the way Niger which is well known as one of the poorest countries in Sub-Saharan Africa with many cases of malnutrition and hunger, ironically, is the fourth largest uranium producer in the world. At the same time Niger host large gold, coal, iron ore, tin, phosphates, petroleum, molybdenum, salt, and gypsum resources! So the question of the coup leaders is logical and extremely legitimate – “where is the money?”

By the way the coup in Niger was organised by the presidential guard commander general Abdourahamane Tchiani who proclaimed himself as the leader of a new military junta. Common sense says that he knew first hand what is the level of corruption and which states and their secret agencies were involved in it. So the time has come for many corrupted African politician to be asked to provide ACCOUNTABILITY for their actions!
