Maybe a Fairytale About How the China-USA Relations Started To Take Shape

Very tasty butter croissants

Just a short disclaimer. Below you will read a story that I discovered recently. It was written by a friend of a friend. It looks like a beautiful fairytale. Some say it is the truth. After researching we couldn’t find the facts and that is why we are presenting it as fairytale. Till the facts come! The gentleman who wrote it in 2020 during lockdowns is in his eight decade and still active. Hope you find it interesting and you decide to buy him through us a cup of coffee…

” 48 years ago, in 1972, the ice block of Chinese American relations started with two suitcases of buffer croissant, believe it or not. Mao Tse Tung gave his Vice Premier Zhou Enlai 40 US dollars and sent him to the UN located in New York City to see if he could talk to the Americans and start a dialog. Zhou was fluent in French because he was a graduate of the Sorbonne University in France.” To add here is the telegram from New York to Bucharest from April 1973 mentioning that Kissinger and Zhou came to an agreement about Korea isuue. Here is the link

“While a student there he struck up a friendship with an American journalist who was getting his Masters Degree there. His name was Harry Reasoner. After Tsu went back to China they lost track of each other. The UN driver who went to pick up Tsu was a multilingual and Tsu handed him a piece of paper with the name Harry Reasoner. At the time, Reasoner was casting the evening news on ABC. He was one of the biggest names on TV news. The driver told Tsu, in French, to turn the TV in his room at 6.30 pm on ABC news, and you will see your long-lost friend. After the driver dropped him at the UN Hotel, he had two missions to accomplish. He was a CIA operative and he called his boss to let him know that Tsu was in town and that Harry Reasoner was his best friend from college. And he wanted to see Harry immediately. The UN people called Harry Reasoner to inform him that his friend Tsu was in town and wanted to meet him. When he finished his newscast Harry went straight to the UN Hotel to see his old friend. After they met, Tsu handed him $40 to go and buy him some good croissants. Harry told him to put his money in his pocket. He went downstairs to a neighbouring bakery and got him a full shopping bag of all kinds of croissants, and according to Harry, he passed in his pans from joy. The same night Kissinger already knew this because he was the one who authorised his travel to the USA. Tsu stayed in town for about a week, and one day Kissinger came to New York and handed him a letter from President Nixon to Mao Tsetung, and 2 suitcases full of croissants to take back to China. The rest as they say is history.”

Is it a fairy tale or is it not? It is for each and everyone to believe it or not.

Whatever, I like croissants! Do you?
