How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?
The question brought the smile on me.
Some years, years ago, I read a book of Harvey Mackay “Swim With the Sharks: Without Being Eaten Alive…”
The lesson 20 had a title
“Smile and Say No Until Your Tongue Bleeds
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No…
Maybe tomorrow.
You’ll be amazed how the terms of your deals will improve when you learn to say NO.”
Even that I read it many years ago, it took me sometime to make it a practice. But I remember it till today.
Learn to say NO, but do not close the door. Even if it interfere with your goals. We need people, as the people need us.
A little marketing would do good.
“Marketing is not the art of selling. It’s not the simple business of convincing someone to buy” or to accept your goals. It is the art of creating conditions by which the buyer, or just a colleague, family member, friend, whom ever you communicate with convinces himself. “And nothing is more convincing than hard evidence that others want the same thing.” So, learn to kindly and with smile say NO, and create demand. That will transform negativity to positivity and will be working for you instead against you.
