Have you ever had surgery? What for?
Strange persons are walking through this earth. I met some of those here at WordPress. Each genuine, with integrity, curious, strate, and truthful! Just this morning, I got another reminder that our words can be the source of inspiration but also as reason to increase fear and generally bad feelings.
I always concentrate on positive and share will share with you that I got another surprised like from our colleague Tony for my post from September 2024. Title: “Gods from Olyimpus“ ….. want us all subdued or killed… Recommended. Then, as curious human being, I went to see who Tony is.
And I found out that he is a husband, a father of two boys, a nurse( as he does the injection shoots for his kids every 2 weeks), a therapist as he studied psychology, a blogger, a tryer, a thinker, an overthinker, a quitter, a driver, a joker…
Reading all this inspired me to share my experience, which otherwise I would keep for myself as it has to do with personal experience of the surgery of small umbilical hernia. It is one of the widely done surgeries, but as usual, I wanted to do it differently. First, I did not want to be drugged, but to experience the surgery completely aware! I wanted to stay awake and aware, so I found the surgeon who was ready to accept my wish. And I found it. He accepted to administer topical anaesthesia and warn me that if I felt pain, he would instruct an anesthesiologist to take me to deep sleep.
So, the surgery started with a small curtain installed near the stomach, and my legs went into the special boots that would massage it to prevent thrombosis. I felt a little pain from the first cut but was concentrated and prepared, so all started well. I could hear and see nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologist talking, and after a while, satisfied with my behaviour, he began sharing one anecdote. It was an anecdote involving doctor and patient, and after he finished, we all,.exept a surgeon laughed. So, the surgeon raised his head over the curtain and said to me:” Will you stop laughing and let me continue the surgery?” This was not a question, obviously. It was an order.
I stayed quiet but still curious, and after 100 minutes, one hour and forty minutes ,my surgery finished. I was taken to my room, and after some 20 minutes and eating a soup, I started talking business over my mobile phone and said to my wife that I wanted to go from the clinic. I started to prepare. I wear my clothes and when I am ready to put the shoes, both the surgeon and anesthesiologist come to visit me. Then smiling anesthesiologist said- WHERE ISNTHE PATIENT? We all laughed, and I said to them that I wanted to go home. They said it is OK and let me go with a warning that if anything happens and I feel something to contact them immediately anytime.
Well, nothing happened. All went great, and what it stayed was this memory that I finally shared with the public.
