And it is not a tragedy!
Today is Saint Valentine’s Day, the lovers’ day that many celebrate! It became a tradition. Like, people do not need love on all the other days and need Saint Valentine to feel it. Even that can be a small sample of how every day of the lovers should be! Filled with respect, understanding, laughter, and positivism…
But here I will not talk about Saint Valentine. I will tell you a story about a real couple! Mr. Romeo and Mrs. Juliet! Not from William Shakespeare or anyone who was presenting as him. No!
These Mr. Romeo and Mrs. Juliet are real, and they live among us. Believe it or not, today, the Saint Valentines day, is the sixtieth birthday of Mr. Romeo! His wife Juliet is three years younger. They met by chance in the Philippines capital city of Manila nearly forty years ago. Mr. Romeo comes from the south and Juliet from the north part of the beautiful country of the Philippines. It is like the spirit of Mr. Shakespeare organized for them to go to Manila at the same time. To meet, to fall in love, make a family, and, contrary to the tragedy, still stay together! All these years, they have remained faithful to one another, having six children. What a beautiful, real-world short story with deep lessons for all of us!
And this story would finish here. However, I need to let you know another thing about this couple. It concerns family values and family connection. .
This great couple, as I mentioned have five sons and one daughter. In the Philippines, there is one of many traditional beliefs. Like in all countries. Namely, if the couple has four boys in a row, their belief is that they will be unlucky. They would experience some issues that would affect their relationship and existence.
And, believe it or not, by the spirit of the tragedy of Mr.Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet’s first four children were all boys! That was the time for them TO BE, OR TO BE NOT? The couple that was in deep, honorable love had an issue that needed resolving. Maybe in those days, Mr. Romeo wanted to swear to Mrs. Juliet that he loves her forever. And maybe Mrs. Juliet did not need that as she felt loved all the time! But one is certain. Those days were filled with doubts and difficulties in the couple’s communication. It was a test of how deep and strong this relation was. The couple faced difficulties between themselves. They also faced challenges with the Juliet part of the family. These issues arose when they settled in the place where Julie’s family lives.
Then, it’s as if God decided that there were a lot of tragedies in this world. The time had come to introduce a way out. We then learn how beautiful and deep family connections can be. It confirms once more that pure and humble souls allow some power to organize everything. Smoothly and humanly. Here is what has happened! Julie has a sister named Lily. Lily and her husband had five daughters and no son! This is where Lily proposed to her sister to become a guardian of Julie and Romeo forth son, Eruel. They accepted it, and after that, Romeo and Juliet had one more daughter and one son! Both families stayed on good terms and always helped one another, till today!
Today, some thirty years later, Leure became an amazing man. I had the pleasure of meeting him. He is determined to work hard. He wants to be in love, get married, and make his own family. He is a fortunate young soul. He has six sisters and five brothers. He also has a beautiful soul fiancée, and they are ready to continue with their lives.
Many stories could be said about Romeo, Juliet, Lily, and their families, but that is not for here and now.
Maybe some other time…
After listening to this story, I asked myself another question. Why do we not talk or write about these beautiful human stories? This is something you should be asking yourself.
Why are we bombarded with destructive news about disasters that project fear and discomfort of humans towards other humans? Those are minority news but are reported as if all these bad things represent the majority! That those news reflect the state of humanity on our planet. That is a LIE! Instead, why do we not concentrate on the real majority of beautiful deeds humans do every day?
We are the majority!
Exercise love in all your doings and do not be afraid of anything. The universe is watching and programming for us all. We will all have our chance. The point is to recognize it and act to get it.
