I am using this opportunity to share with some of the 800 of you who read from this site nearly every day the interview of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with Rory Stewart and Alistair Cembel.
Many who followed Tony Blair knew who Alistair Cembel was in those days. However, few know that Rory Stewart graduated from famous Oxford Balliol College, known for being a place many influential people who shaped British politics came from. Plus that his father, Brian Thomas Webster Stewart, was the second most senior officer in the British Secret Intelligence Service. A splinter does not fall far from the log, says a Serbian proverb…
As someone who learned a lot from the Brits, I am very pleased to see those three men together. It does remind me of some of the beautiful conversations I have had during my extensive business cooperation with the British.
It sheds light on the British decision to leave the EU, with the idea to be out of regulations but in for politics… The British will always have an eye on Germany and continental Europe and will try hard to recover some of the traditional and definitely trusted allies like Serbia. It is not at all easy after the 1999 unlawful bombing of Belgrade and the amputation of the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohia. But at least they are shily trying…
You might ask why I think that the Brits will always have an eye on Germany.
To get it, go back to history and learn about geography! Harold Mackinder wrote an article in 1904 that was published in the Royal Geographical Society. Title – The Geographical Pivot of History.

Nothing has changed, and the Brits, those who are still old-school followers, did not forget. Come on, but we have technology; time has changed… blah blah blah… Yes. But one thing stays the same! Geography! Who understands that now will be in a better position than those who are still in a deep narcissistic sleep…
Britain tries to open up to people who have been proven throughout history to be its traditional allies. It is not easy, as many terrible mistakes have happened, and to straighten it out, concessions are to be made. When I say concessions, the first one is the concession to its own worldview, and from that, all the other moves will be logical and reasonable.
